Canada to give $25-million in food aid

International Co-operation Minister Bev Oda announced a $25-million program to help feed people in southern Afghanistan on Sunday.
The money will be used to fund the purchase of grain and cooking oil in areas hard hit by Taliban militants.

At least 50 killed in militant clashes in Pakistan

The death toll from clashes between militants and soldiers in Pakistan’s restive tribal areas increased to 50 late Sunday, the military said.
